Simple lines

Hey there,

I had a really good day on Saturday for making cards. (I mean I eventually got at least an hour or two on my own!). This is the second one I made which I really enjoyed. I followed the Friday Sketchers sketch which I will use again. I used a Magnolia stamp which will fit in with the Just Magnolia challenge of birthdays.

I ended up having to buy a new guillotine, I had a Fiskars one for years but I needed to change the blades so frequently. I opted to buy the new Woodware rotary cutter that was rated in a crafting mag a while back. What a really good cutter it is. If your thinking about updating yours or in need of a shop, have a look at Cardcraft-UK - they are really worth having a little look at (if you call into the shop, their prices are even cheaper!)

I won't list the items used as they are always the same as before apart from the bobbly flowers - I got them today at The Works.

Take care,

A little oriental

Hi there,

What a lovely day it was today, a little cold but sunny here in the NW of the UK, oooh roll on summer! Hope you all enjoyed your Saturday.
My card today is a little oriental in theme - it fits two challenges:-
Colour Create - Red, Black and off white
(Opt extra of Silver / pewter brads)
&
I had quite a mind block doing this card, it didn't help with my daughter wanting to "craft" at the same time and pinching my bits and bobs cheek! I've even given her her own crafting box! But anyway after a bit of coaxing and bribing to stick her own card and not mine, I managed to get this little number done.

Items used:-

Sugar Nellie Stamp, Promarkers & Copics, MS Lattice boarder punch, oriental papers from Cardcraft plus, card - Papermill, flowers & brads/spacers & charm - stash

Thanks for taking time to take a peek.

Whiff of Joy challenge.

Oh what "fun" I had making this card. There seemed to be one mishap after another. First I decided to use one of my 3 Whiff of Joy stamps. On inking it up, I somehow managed to drop the stamp pad - yes you guessed it upside down on my clothes - duh. I then decided to use some paints that I had been given. I don't know the name of them but they are a little like the H20's. Well on painting my image, the image started to disappear!!! I then had to redraw the image over the top of the paints before all the lines completely went.

Next - the challenge is to use pearls and swirls - I don't have any pearls. On looking at other blogs they have made their own pearl swirls and I thought I'd join the club, but...... I don't have any pearls only pearl beads .......... yes I cut all the beads in half. Well I didn't know whether to laugh or cry - the beads were pinging and popping everywhere. I nearly decided not to continue but perseverance got the better of me. Now after cutting all my beads in half (very precariously with my craft knife) - what do I use to glue them on - my glue pen didn't work, so out came the silicon. A little squeeze too much and it got all over my hands, the tweezers kept getting stuck up with the silicon, the paper was getting too gloopy. I felt like I did at primary school and needed someone to clean me up!

Anyway after another big debate on the flowers and thinking I need to purchase some larger ones I put together a little ensemble. So here it is..

Ta da ........ what do you think - honestly .......

Well that's enough of the waffling for now - husband just rolls his eyes at me, but I know that you kind soles can relate to this on some level!

Papertake Weekly.

Hello,
Check this out, I managed to make my new punch into a daisy boarder - not exactly perfect but I'm working on it. I've been looking at all the new crafting items I would like to have ...... there is so much ....... must slow down on my purchases .... my purse is empty too often.

Anyway onto this card, "check this out" for the Papertake Weekly challenge - I decided to use this lovely doublesided backing paper in the check design, unfortunately I don't know who is is made by.
Items used:-
Magnolia stamp / Martha Stewart boarder punch / Nellie Snellie star flower
Marriane Design fronds / Pearly doodles / Promarkers
Who else is watching the Brits at the moment? Don't know whether to turn it over or to watch it. My family is divided as to who should win what!!!! I'll just carry on watching my daughter do her wiggling dancing!
Thanks for taking a peek.

Passion for Promarkers

Hi again,

I've bought a new punch and decided to put it to good use on this card. The challenge at Passion for Promarkers is buttons and bows. I found some watermark bp which I thought would tone in with my image. Again I'm trying to use some of my old crafting items so pulled out my corner deco scissors - all the corners were cut, but unfortunately I have covered them up with my tags and flowers! On looking at my ribbon collection to put a bow on this card, I did actually wonder what I was thinking of when I bought quite a few of them - so I chose a simple little pink number for this.

Anyway thanks for taking a peek.

The Sugar Bowl Challenge.

Good evening ladies,
Have you had your pancakes then? (don't tell anyone but I had a couple too!) Now I feel so full I can hardly move - that gives me an excuse to upload this card.

Pop along to The Sugar Bowl Challenge to see the sketch to use and fab DT cards.

I've used one of my favourite Sugar Nellie stamps - this was one of my first buys from the company. This is a great sketch for using up all your odd bits of bp's. I found a gorgeous button from my button tin and cut off the shank. The colour blends well with my design (does everyone have a button tin?)

Items used:-

Sugar Nellie Stamp / Promarkers / bp, flowers and button from stash /

Martha Stewart fond punch

Thanks for stopping by.

Sugar Love

Good afternoon ladies,

Did you all get pampered today, breakfast in bed and a lovely card - Romance? Nah neither did I, hubby did give me a lovely "bought" card and choccies, but is now in the garage rebuilding a motorbike, daughter has pinched a couple of choccies so it looks like i'm making the tea then!!!! Might as well upload another card.

This card fits into two challenges:
A Spoonful of Sugar - 1 Patterned paper, 1 embossing, 1 button and 1 ribbon.

I've even decided to lookin in my drawers and see if I could use some of my older "stuff" - I found some mulberry paper with gold tinsel in it. I've been trying to sort my drawers out and thinking "it'll come in some day" so it goes back in the drawers - are you like that too?

Tilda has been coloured in with COPICS! - all from the skin tones pack (apart from her wings which were coloured with a sakura glitter gel pen and the shadow).

My bargin was the tag punch I got yesterday from a cheapy store where I live - a Friskars squeeze punch for only £1.

Hope you enjoy your day whatever your doing.

All loved up

Hello girls,
Have you all got someone in mind to send a card to?
Aren't there so many lovely valentines cards out there - I thought I'd make a fun one for a change.
The image is Joanna Sheen. I'm going to enter it into the following challenges:-
Simon Says - Love
The bp is from Papermania, (including the sentiment) the scalloped heart was cosmic shimmered and cut freehand with scalloped scissors.
Hope you all have a smoochy romantic Valentines Day.
Hugs Sarah x

Whiff of Joy challenge.

Hi there,

I thought i'd try another Whiff Of Joy challenge - I love this image, I've used her previously on many cards, with all different colours. I've coloured her in with copics and promarkers. On looking at this uploaded image, the pink strips look really wonky - irl they are only millimeters out! Going to have to get a decent camera and not rely on my mobile!

The backing paper is a freebie from a magazine. I really like these papers, they are quite fresh and a bit summery.

I love looking at all the blogs out there and seeing the different seasons, celebrations and trends coming and going - i'm really looking forward to being able to craft in my craftroom with the sun blazing in (oh ok - shining in) and not having to rely on my little heater!

Thanks for looking.

Just for fun

Hello again,
Just thought that I'd show you my latest card - coloured in with copics - do you like the hair and the shine? Still practicing but it's not too bad. I also tried a little shading on her dress to.

I've bought Promarkers and copics, I still can't decide which I prefer..... I have taken a lot of inspiration from my good friend Liz's creative corner and another great blog Marcea's crafting corner and quite a few more (too many to mention - I spend more time looking through the blogs than crafting...!) Items used:-
The stamp is a gorguss girl from Sugar Nellie and the flowers are a new die, Marianne designs

As the card is quite plain and simple, I felt it could take the large flowers - yes you've got to try it to decide whether you like it - and I'm quite happy with the way it has turned out.

Well I suppose that's my weekend over with, so have a good evening.

Boy oh Boy

Hello peeps,
Isn't it a shame that weekends don't seem to last long enough? No sooner have I done all my jobs then settle down for a little "me time" then its already 8.00 O'clock! Just time to do a blog or two! This card has been made to fit the Friday Sketchers Sketch, but also fits the Cute Card Thursday challenge - spots and dots. I dared to do a male card! Young males are not too bad to craft for, its when they reach teenage years and beyond I seem to get a little stuck, but looking at all those fabulous blogs out there, there is quite a lot of inspiration to take in.

Items used:-
Dovecraft backing papers, coredination paper run through an cuttlebug embossing folder.
Martha Stewart lattice punch, Lili of the Valley stamp,
Promarkers, distressing inks and leaf from stash.
Thanks for looking.

All Creatures Great and Small.

Hello again,
Sorry this picture is a little dark, I took the picture quite late on so had to rely on my craft light! - Roll on summer, I bet we all could do with a little sun to lift our spirits.

Anyway my card for today is for Passion for Promarkers - "all creatures great and small". When I went to Manchester Central last weekend I purchased a few more Promarkers - so put them to good use here.I use a few Magnolia stamps in this card, I think they are all from the Butterfly collection apart from the Tilda. Tilda, and the big ladybug and big butterfly were 3d'd with silicon glue (it's a shame cause it looks quite good irl!)

Anyway onwards and upwards...

Take care,
Sarah x

Love

Hello there,
It's taken me quite a while to make this card with all the interuptions of family life. No sooner had I solved one dilemma then I had to deal with another - gosh draining isn't in it - good job crafting can take your mind off of things.

Papertake Weekly - Love Actually

Lili of the Valley - Valentine.

Items used:-
