Magical New Year.

Hi there,
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, plenty of quality time with family and friends and one or two gifts to spoil yourselves with.
I had a wonderful time, Emma who is nearly 5 was in total awe of Santa coming and her face was so emotional. Bless - to be a child again ....

I did have a little play as I thought I might loose my mojo if I didn't do something .. this is what I created. I tried to paint with DI's - not my usual forte but it turned out better than expected. Again I was trying to use up all sorts of old crafting embelishments and found these chipboard leaves which I have a coat of DI to. There is plenty of sparkle and a hat pin, but these haven't shown up well in the photo.

Challenges:-
Tomic - Happy New Year.
Papertake Weekly - Sketch
Simon Says - Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Happy New Year.

I hope you all have a wonderful New Year and are able to keep any resolutions you intend to make!!!!

Hugs and Best wishes,

Posing Perfectly

Hello ladies,
Had to just pop on to see how you are all doing. Still busy buying the last minute things, checking your own lists to make sure that everything has been done? I've worked so much over the last couple of weeks that I haven't crafted for a while - I'm so behind on everything - just written my Christmas cards - still got all the presents to wrap!
I did take time out to see Emma in her Pantomime = she was the Donkey in the Nativity - (sadly the donkey only had one eye - now don't laugh) - she was ever so cute along with all the other little ones. Sadly your not allowed to take group photos of your child in the nativity with everyone elses child BUT they are allowed to publish a group photo in the local paper?!!!!????!

Here is the card I made with one of my new stamp received kindly from Funky Kits via The Sugar Nellie Christmas Giveaway - isn't she just gorgeous? I haven't done the Christmas route = rather a fresh looking card which I hope you like.
It fits the Sugar Bowl Sketch and I love Promarkers colour scheme of blue and White.

Well I must crack on and get my list done of all the finishing touches I need to get done this week! As I may not be blogging this side of Christmas .........

MAY I WISH YOU ALL A WONDER CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR, WITH HEALTH WEALTH OF PROSPERITY SENT YOUR WAY.

MAY SANTA BRING YOU EVERYTHING YOU WISH FOR & MORE

BIG HUGS TO YOU ALL

and thank you for your support and stopping by my place, I may not be as big as some,

or as fancy as others, or as talented as most,

but I really do appreciate you taking time to have a look.

With love,

Special Delivery

Hi there,
Is old Father Time speeding things up? I think he is having a little play with time as it seems to be just flying by. Still got so much to do, work getting busy busy busy!
However I did have a night out and guess who I had a cuddle from ..................... the one and only Frank Bruno! he had such a firm grip and asked me if I wanted some hubba hubba! lol - think this was his punch line to make me smile for the camera! He hasn't aged at all!
Hubby, I and a few good friends attended a Charity Night at which he was a guest of honour. A good night was had all round, a few cheeky drinks and a Kebab to round it off - (not had a night like that for quite a while - years in fact!)

Anyhows, here is my card, finally got one to blog about!
A sweet simple one, I sent all my cards to my SIL for her Church Fayre so I am starting from scratch building up a collection - starting from New borns.

This one fits the Lili of the Valley challenge - Anything but a Christmas Card.

Thanks for taking time to pop by.

Hello there,
Why are there not enough hours in the day? with the nights getting darker, my time to do "stuff" has just disappeared - blogger not playing ball - technology eh?!

My daugher is learning to read, bless, she is really coming along a treat - and now thinks she can write her Christmas list trying to narrow it down to at least half of the toys in Argos is taking its toll! lol Moxie girls are the top most of her wanted list along with different Bratz dolls. I wasn't even allowed a Barbie when I was little :<

Apparently today is the most busiest day for buying online to beat the weather! - at least I made a start in my purchases but not on line - joining the queues.

Anyway here is a card I made. Another simple one.
The image is a Kenny download - Spellbinder die - pearls and gems. Simple but eyecatching!

Challenges:-
Passion For Promarkers - White on white.
Bunny Zoe Challenge - Anything Christmas and Pearls.
Crafts & Me - Simple.

Thanks for stoppying by my lile ole blog,

Christmas Sparkles

Good Evening everyone,
I have really got to get a wriggle on if I am going to put this card into any challenges - the weekend flew by so fast!
I've used the adoreable Sugar Nellie stamp again, which is the sketch for The Sugar Bowl challenge, Creative Inspirations - lashings of sparkle, I Love promarkers - Sparkle shine and glitz and Colour Create - Turquoise, Deep pink and Ivory.

Go on, how many of you have already completed your Christmas shopping, written all your cards? I know at least two people who have done everything for Christmas !!

I know it is a little late but did you all have a great Halloween? Bonfire Night? - of all the cheek, we had two of our pumpkins pinched from our table outside the house - there just has to be one that spoils the fun doesn't there ....

Anyway keep safe and snug,

Hugs

Golden Tones.

Good evening peeps,
After having a well deserved week off from work, I managed to make this card in between the hyperactivity of the kids - boy are they ready to go back to school!!

This is quite a thick card now it has been made so I think I will have to hand deliver it to someone! I have backed each dp with mirri board, gold leafed the background to the image, used micro beads on the centres of the pointsettias. I tried gluing it all with a new photoglue I have, but I don't think that I will be using that again as it was still wet a day later!

I have gone with lush golden tones, the ribbon looks a little brown in the photo but it is a real lush golden colour.Challenges:-

LOTV - Sketch & Simon Says - Anything Goes.

Well our pumpkins have been carved, the soup made (and thrown away! I tried to be a little resourceful of not just wasting the pumpkin = but it was not to anyones taste ) the sweets bought and placed in the tin - costume bought and face paints ready - just to wait for the hoards of kids to arrive tomorrow .......

Enjoy & thanks for stopping by.

Clean and Simple.

Hi again.
I tried to do a clean and simple card using the sketch from the Sugar Bowl - I am so not used to their being so little on a card! Still I quite like how it turned out. I've even done some heat embossing to!

Challenges:-
I love promarkers - Cute
The Sugar Bowl - Sketch.
OSCC - no designer paper.

I've kept my posts quite short today as I have a swollen eyes due to a dust irritation - they are driving me mad as they are so itchy!
Thanks for stopping by,

And now for something different....

Edited to add:- I have been asked for the instructions for this "Kusadama folded petal flower" - I saw them in the docrafts creativity Magazine issue no 27. If you would like me to send you the instructions just email me.

Just thought I'd show you what I have been up to that it a little different - I have been paper folding - the first picture is of a flower bauble

These two are Sonobie origami baubles

The latter's instructions are available on Splitcoast stampers - my middle child Aaron is really into paper construction so we had a look at these and had a go. The paper doesn't require any glue. It took me quite a while to do the first one, but once done, I had to do another, they are quite addictive. Here is the link for anyone interested http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/sonobeorigamiornament/

Gorgeous Fairy.

Hello again,
Another card from me, I was having a play with a new stamp I bought, and as you know I rumage around to use things I haven't used for a while. This colour paper took my fancy .. Here is the finished product .... I really do love those fairies with those lush wings, I have made this one fly in the sky with a little fairy magic (I do believe I do believe ....)

Challenge:-
Crafts and Me - Orange.
I Love Promarkers - Autumnal colours

I have used four shades on the dress of the Promarkers, WOC flowers, glitters in various colours, bit and pieces of papers from my stash, MS frond punch.
See you soon,

The Pixie Dance

Good Afternoon Peeps,
I really hope you are all having better days of late than me. Everything just seems to be against me at the moment, work is so busy, of our our neighbours need help so at 6.00am in the morning I am roaming the streets in my PJ's to assist! I have not hot water or heating since yesterday as my boiler has stopped working and they won't come out until Wednesday! and Blogger keeps playing up ! I fell like I am on a never ending climb!

Enough of the whining .... I have managed to try and do a few things differently in crafting. Here is a card made with Lumina stamps - I really do love Whimsical / fairytale lands ....
I have left it quite basic, an enchanted door in an old oak tree with dancing pixies all from Lumina stamps collection, a stamp and emboss pointsettia with pearl centre. The background were two other stamps, old money accounting and a cheque stamp. Distressed on the edges. Stickles added. In real life it does have a real sparkly enchantment.

Challenges:-
Simon Says - Halloween / Goth.
Cute Card Thursday - Trees
Whimsey - Dies Cuts / punches.

Thanks for popping by,

Of course Halloween is coming along, so spooky cards are being shown - so I thought i'd join in ..

Challenges:-

Stamps are Magnolia and Clarity - sizzix swirls - WOC flowers - MS punch.

My Shaker Card

Hello there,
A busy first week with Emma being at school full time, routines and timetables to adhere to ... I'm whacked already .... A little crafty time whilst she played with her brothers enabled me to make this card ... I really enjoyed making this, my first shaker card in about 2 years or so. I've gone brown monochromatic, adding pointsettia flowers and swirls for the autumn feel.

Challenges:-
TOMIC - sketch - but too late to enter :<
Simon Says - Dies and Punches.

Thanks for stopping by, Hugs

Pretty Girl

Hiya,

I don't know whether I can get used to these new hours at work - finishing at 2.30! anyway it gave me time to make this card for The Sugar Bowl challenge following a sketch - it also fits OSCC challenge - Girlie.

Emma is really loving school, so many new friends, I thought it would have tired her out, but unfortunately it has given her more beans and boy am I tired!

Just walking down the street.

Hi there,

Sorry I've not been around for a while - I've had to cover at work whilst my colleague was on holiday and also been getting my daughter ready for her first day at school. Emma has been buzzing for the last two years waiting to attend and the day finally arrived.

My cardmaking had taken quite a back seat for a few weeks, so now hopefully I can start to have my own regular playtime! lol

My card today, I have been trying distressing papers. Still have to get a little more heavier handed with my craft knife or invest in a distresser as on the card, it doesn't look like I have done much!

I think the weather has influenced my image and colour scheme ! - where was the summer?

Still not sure on colouring of black hair. I found the following challenges that it fits into:-

TOMIC - Browns and Creams.
Creative Inspirations - Anything goes.
Simon Says - use a song or film title as inspiration (can not think of the title but it goes ... here she comes just a walking down the street) ..!
Cute Card Thursday - Anything goes.

WOW - my first trip to Harrogate - what have I been missing .... me and two buddies took the 2 hour drive and were astonished. Elaine had told me ages ago how good it was and other bloggers had been saying that they were going. I thought that I may see on or two of you there .... nah, blind as a bat me..... too busy buying goodies and having my buddies say .... have you seen this ...... just look at that ...... wow must have one of these .... and half my time kneeling to get to see things! I did managed to see one or two demos. With being tall, I was at the back and still managed to see! Think that this will definitely be an annual outing now. How did your shopping do if you went there, what was your best buy?

Anyway that is it for me for now,

Sugar and spice....

Good morning,
Wow, where are the days going to? The weeks seem to be passing by so fast at the moment - I hear that is a sign of getting old! lol
I've been running round getting last minute things for the children for school, all new uniforms as they have grown so much - labels all sewn in and I've made a few cards for challenges but never get to put them on my blog in time - never mind.
Here is one that has fitted in with few challenges:-
Passion for Promarkers - Anything goes.
Sketch Saturday - sketch.
Simon Says - Anything goes.
I love Promarkers - Anything goes.
Cute Card Thursday - Use at least one punch.

I've used a Sugar Nellie stamp but masked off her hand and made a cupcake for it which has been 3d'd, 2 MS punches, Promarkers WOC flowers, Frond papers.
That's it for now.

I wonder ....

Hi again,
Just time to squeeze in another card.
This one I had been colouring on and off for a few days, not for the want of trying mind you.
Challenges:-
The Sugar Bowl - sketch.
Whimsey - Anything goes with a sentiment.
Truly Scrumptious - Use mainly pinks.
Yes my drawers have been rumaged through again - shhhh I have used a .... a...... peel off. sentiment...... now I know these are not "current" but needs must when you trying to cut down on crafting purchases - I even found an old die I hadn't used probably since I got it either. Nothing like a good old rumage...
Perhaps there should be a crafty swopshop site to list unwanted items and request for wish for? Good idea or has someone already done it ? Ahh well - time to sign off,
Take Care all,
Hugs,

Little Sweet one.

Good evening Peeps,
What a glorious day it was in the NW. We took the kids to Arnside and walked along the beach, the sun beating down, a picnic on the sands - simple things and yet it was really great just my family and the open air.
Anyways, thought I'd post before a quick weekend away to my SIL house with the kids.
I love the Sarah Kay images like this one, so thought she'd better see some light.
Challenges:-
Papertake Weekly - use dies.
Crafts and Me Challenge - use lace.
Simon Says - sketch.
I did have a lovely framed sentiment to go on this card but after an accident with my daughter putting her little fingers in the glaze and dropping a container of glitter everywhere, I opted for the more simple look! lol I'm still twinkling even after a shower!
Thanks for hopping by,
Hugs

A Newby

Hi again,
Can't you tell which box of stamps I had out on my desk to play with? ...
I bought these shaped cards a while back but haven't used them much so thought that I should give them an airing.
Here is what I came up with.

Challenges:-
I love Promarkers - an easel card
Whimsey Inspirations Challenge - sewing (fake around the lettering)

I used a couple of embossing folders in this card and kept it quite simple.

Hugs

Ahoy there me hearties

Good evening ladies,

I hope your evening has been enjoyable, with the children still being on holiday, it is very full on in our household. Trying to keep them occupied and still work, quite a juggling act. Anyway I have most of their uniforms bought, just the shoes to get now and I think that is it. Why do boys have growning spurts over the holidays? Bring back the Bay City Rollers where I could put a hem of tartan around the bottoms (that is what my mum did with me, I kept shooting up so the hems got bigger and bigger! not that they were my favourite band! lol).

Here is a card I managed to have a play with..

Challenges:-

Passion for Promarkers - A pirates life for me.

Crafts and Me - shades of blue / blue/Green.

Creative Inspirations - Use your favourite stamps

Oooh I've missed making a card and playing and blogging of course. The items used are always my usual, Promarkers, Magnolia stamp which is my favourite pirate stamp etc. so I won't bore you with the deets -
Thanks for popping by,
Hugs

Sunday 7 August 2011

Oh Dear what can the matter be ....

Just another quick post tonight - I bought this gorgeous image the other day - isn't she a sweetie ... Another route in my drawers to use up some scraps of paper and this red creation came. I've uses spellbinders tags (cut in half), nesties, promarkers and papers from stash.

I did get a couple of those new nibs to attach to the promarkers to give a smaller nib - they work a treat, the only critisism I have is that I would have prefered to attach it to the chisel end which I hardly ever use, rather than the bullet end - What do you think of them?

Challenges:-
Crafts & Me - Anything goes.
Allsorts Challenge - Red

Well that is me totally shattered now, so will say goodnight.

Keep safe & Well,
big hugs,
